Gallery walk to the Latin American Day

Poster of Latin American Day
Hello everyone! I am Aarthi, student of Smt. Parvatibhai chowgule college, Goa. The English department of my college had organized a gallery walk on 5th march 2019. The students and the teachers of English department well organized the event. It was very attractive and it invited lots of students to come and I am sure it gave them the knowledge about 8 different countries of Latin America. The students well in advance informed us through a poster regarding this event.

The 8 different countries: Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Chile. Each country had its own unique culture, food etc. Out of these 8 countries I liked Puerto Rico. Names of presenters of Puerto Rico were Oaizy Gomes and Jefy Rodrigues. I chose Puerto Rico out of all 8 countries because I found the presenters were too active and also their way of presenting was appreciable. The information I got is that Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory with a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. Its Old San Juan neighbourhood features colourful Spanish colonial buildings and El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive, centuries-old fortresses. One among the presenters had worn the beautiful dress of Puerto Rico.

The presenters had a game in their booth. It was called aiming at the bottle. We had to pick up one among the chits they had. On the chit there was a riddle about a place of Puerto Rico. We were allowed to search in internet and guess the correct answer. There were 5 bottles in which one among them was correct answer written on it. We had to hit the bottle with a stone from a distance and if the stone hits the bottle and if it’s the right one, we win the game. The winners will get their cultural food. So overall both of them (Oaizy Gomes and Jefy Rodrigues) were to interactive and behaved really well. Other booths such as Costa Rica told different stories and Venezuela played music that I found unique.    It was nice event and for me it was a nice experience knowing about the 8 countries of Latin America. I thank to English department students as well as teachers of my college for giving us this great opportunity.
